In a time when hospitality matters more than ever, HiddenMPLS Tours is proud to launch a bold new initiative: “The World Walks Free”, offering free admission to all international visitors on the acclaimed Hidden Cedar Lake Walking Tour — a uniquely Minnesotan journey through nature, history, and heartfelt local storytelling.
Led by longtime local voice and cultural guide Tim Sheridan, each tour is limited to just six guests to preserve a personal, intimate experience. From tucked-away trails and native prairie grasses to the stories of early immigrants who helped shape the city, the Hidden Cedar Lake Tour is a window into the soul of Minneapolis.
“This city is special — it’s walkable, it’s green, and it’s deeply welcoming,” says Sheridan, who created HiddenMPLS to show both locals and newcomers the places most people never notice. “We want international visitors to know that they are not just accepted here — they are wanted, and they are appreciated.”
Visitors from any country outside the U.S. can join the tour for free simply by showing a non-U.S. passport or international ID. Locals are encouraged to book a spot and walk alongside the world, one story at a time.
What to Expect:
A two hour outdoor walking tour along the secret edges of Cedar Lake
A blend of history, humor, nature, and Nordic-inspired charm
Reflections on what makes Minneapolis one of America’s most “European” cities
Group size capped at 6 for intimacy and authenticity
This is more than a tour — it’s a civic invitation. A hand extended across borders. A moment of welcome, offered through the universal language of walking and storytelling.
*When booking as an International traveler, the Hidden Cedar tour will show up as $1. On the Payment area to bottom left, just click: "Pay in person." You will not be charged.
